Yesterday, my Sister wanted me to pick her up on my way home at 5 pm. However by 4 pm there was a huge traffic block due to the Army conducting a search on all vehicles. I would have opted to stay at office until the traffic eased but since I needed to pick up my sister I thought of taking an alternate route. However soon I found that they were conducting a search on all vehicles along that route too. Anyways soon there was a heavy downpour and the Army gave up the search. We had a lady named Mary, helping us during our stay in India. When my mother decided to join me in Sri Lanka we wanted to bring Mary along with her to Sri Lanka since she didn’t have any family. However she was not allowed to stay in Sri Lanka and hence she returned to India in Dec 2003 after spending 6 months with us in Sri Lanka. Life in India wasn’t easy for her and though we were willing to keep her with us we were not allowed to do so by the immigration laws of Sri Lanka. Mary wanted to see my Sister’s new born son (now 7 months old) and hence we decided to get her down here on a visit.
