Dad's surgery successful

Dad had a successful angioplasty last Friday. Praise God. Thanks for all those who enquired and supported in prayers. I hear that the procedure was not easy because the cardiologist couldn't move the stent to the point where there was a 90% block. They had almost struggled for an hour before they were able to succeed. During that time Dad had felt like he was about to die.

Though there is a slight issue with his ECG (missing heart beat at times) the cardiologist decided to discharge him today. However he will need to do a lot of follow up sessions and continue the medications for at least a year.

Dad to undergo stent procedure

Yesterday myself and Ronney met the Resident Cardiologist at the Colombo National Hospital to discuss the course of action to be taken on my Dad. The doctor was of the opinion that a stent procedure using 2 stents is the ideal thing to do. He needs 2 stents since he has multiple blocks in one artery. It looks like he had been having this problem for the past 5-10 years but it went undetected since his ECG had been perfectly normal. Even now his ECG is normal. More...

Do you want to live a carefree life?

What prevents you from living a carefree life? Have you asked this question to yourself? Let me try to identify five areas in your life that you can address to enjoy a carefree life.

1. Burdened and restless
Are you often burdened with loads of cares? Are you restless? Do you feel like you are carrying a heavy load? Well everyone in this world will find themselves in this stage at some point of their lives. I have good news for you. Listen to what Jesus Christ says to you:

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
(Matthew 11:28-30)

You may have tried many ways to lessen your burden. I know people try meditation. Meditation, they say, helps you to shelve your burden for a while. But once the session is over you will need to carry your burden again, though they say it will feel lighter since you have had some rest during meditation. But Christ Jesus is offering complete rest from your burdens. You need not carry your burdens any more. You have tried so many techniques but why do you hesitate to take on the promise of Christ Jesus. I have tried this and I know it's true and I know of thousands who can say “yea” with me. If you let Christ Jesus into your heart and life by accepting that you are a sinner and that Christ Jesus dies for your sins and that you need not carry your burden of sin any longer, then Christ Jesus will wash you and make you whole again and will help you lead a holy and peaceful life. Talk to Him just as you would talk to your earthly father. Make Him the master of your life and feel the difference He makes.

The secret to a restful life is to "Take" the headship of Christ Jesus. But remember that you need to initiate this because Christ Jesus will not compel you to do it against your wishes. More...

A happening week

Well, last week was indeed a happening week. First my Mom fractured her leg on Sunday. Then on Wednesday Chrish's Dad had a heart attack and is still at the hospital undergoing various tests and treatment.

Also last Sunday was my nephew's 1st birthday. While I was photographing the birthday cake (a car cake since he is crazy for cars) my camera stopped functioning.

This is a Canon S series camera and I bought it 18 months ago. On Monday, after doing some research on the internet, found out that the defect is in image sensor (CCD) and it is a manufacturers defect. There was a huge list of cameras affected by this CCD issue and I was first mad at Canon for making such fragile cameras. Later however I found out that this CCD was indeed manufactured by Sony and hence a lot of models of Sony, Canon and Fuji cameras are suffering the same fate. Sony seems to be having a good time making defective parts. More...
