The Christian believers at Sydney had organized a Church Gathering (called the Holy Convocation) during the Easter weekend. That gave us an opportunity to visit Sydney for the first time.
We decided to drive to Sydney (900 Kms from Melbourne) since that would enable us to be flexible in our plans as well give us mobility in Sydney. Our original plan was to break journey at Wodonga where Chrish's brother resides. Wodonga is about 350 Kms from Melbourne and on the way to Sydney. However due to the last minute change of plans we ended up driving all the way to Sydney in one stretch.
I do not like night driving but we ended up driving almost 6 hours in the dark. Chrish too was tired that day but since I could not drive the last 200 Kms due to fatigue she boldly took the wheel (in spite of her sleepiness and tiredness) and drove at top speed tearing the darkness.
We lodged at the home of Brother Johnson. He and his wife took great care of us and we had a nice time there. We also had the opportunity to visit Chrish's friend Sathya & she too joined us for the meetings one day.
On Easter Sunday we visited Blue Mountains and on Monday we went to a few place in the city. Chrish loves mountains and boats so the Blue Mountain and the Ferry ride to the Sydney city made her wishes complete.
On our return we visited a dear brother at Wollongong called Bro John. He and his wife Sis. Kaye helped us have a wonderful time. We were so sorry we didn't have enough time to spend there. The drive from Sydney to Wollongong is about an hour but that day it was raining and the mountain roads were narrow, winding and foggy. We had to switch on the hazards lights to enable other vehicles to spot us.
Wollongong is a beautiful place with mountains and beaches. The view was really spectacular.
From Wollongong we traveled non-stop 5 hours to reach Wodonga & it was my longest non stop drive ever. We stayed the night at Wodonga and the next day evening we again drove 3.30 hours non stop to Melbourne. This time it was Chrish's turn to drive non-stop.
We are in the process of sorting out the photos and you should be able to see them soon.
