We left Melbourne on the 19th August and flew to Colombo via Malaysia. We had a day's transit in Malaysia where we opted to stay at the Concorde Inn hotel. The variety and the taste of food served was fantastic the best I have had in a hotel in my life and worth mentioning.
Though it was a vacation, it was not really a break. Instead there were plenty of "To Do" things lined up for us. I had a lot of ministry work lined up. Then was my wife's younger brother's wedding. Also on the agenda was Chrish's CIMA convocation. Well Chrish had actually completed CIMA last year but since we left for Melbourne just before the convocation she couldn't make it last year. Do I have to mention the numerous family catch ups? Overall it was such a tedious task to complete all that we had planned done. Oh, I almost forgot the shopping that we had to do. So all in all it was a pleasant trip but at the same time pretty tiring. Add to that the fact that I had to return to work the next day after our return, I don't need to tell you how exciting it was.
Well that meant that we could not visit places that we would have liked to visit and missed lots of photo opportunities. At Chennai we stayed for 4 days at St Thomas mount. We were lodged halfway to the mountain in the International Retreat centre. But due to the ministry schedule we couldn’t visit the top of the mountain. We definitely missed the photo opportunity and especially the opportunity to video the aeroplanes descending to the nearby airport. The aircrafts descend at almost eye level (since you are already on the mountain top) and it was a marvellous sight. We also could not catch up with lots of friends and family. That would obviously mean that you would have to be content with a few photos.
So stay tuned for the few photos that I would upload shortly.
BTW: I hope to add some more posts on our trip but under separate titles. Again stay tuned and you will not be disappointed.
I know that many of you kept visiting my site regularly to see if there were any updates and were disappointed. I am really sorry for the disappointment and would try to keep that to the minimum in the future.
