Vani transformed

This is the life transformation story of a girl named Vani, who I met at our local fellowship. I had been talking to her now and then. The first time I met her, many weeks ago, I realized that Vani is not a born again believer. I guessed that she is coming to worship service because of family compulsions. Hence I shared the Gospel with her but Vani did not pay much interest though she tried to be polite & listen.

But last week I encountered a different Vani. Vani asked me to pray for her TR visa since they had some issues with the documents & that the time is running out. I promised to pray but at the same time told her that she too could pray to God if she had established a relationship with God through Christ Jesus. I reminded her about my initial conversation about forgiveness of sins and restoration of our relationship with God through Christ Jesus. It was then that Vani (who by birth is a Hindu) told me that she had indeed tasted God and had found Him so good. She said that she used to come to worship service only because her family wanted her to. She did not want to commit her life to Christ because she is addicted to movies and TV programs and she knew that she cannot do these things and such other worldly things once she became a child of God. But lately she had come to know the Lord personally and what God has given her cannot be compared to the TV and other worldly things. She has come to the realization that all the worldly things are nothing compared to the love of God. She said that when she reads the Bible now, God is speaking to her so much (earlier she used to read the Bible just like that but never understood anything).

Now that is the mark of someone who has come to life, someone who is born of the spirit. She has been given spiritual sight so that she could see spiritual things and understand the Holy Bible. She even said that she now knows that the God of the Bible is the true and the living God and all others are lies and idols. Also she added that she is not concerned about what would happen to her because she knows that God is with her and that is what matters to her. If she had to go back to India she is fine with it or if she is allowed to stay back in Australia she is fine with it too, as long as it is the will of God. The change in the visa status would mean that her husband has to work less number of hours per week and that would affect them financially a lot. But she didn’t appear to be concerned about all that and I could see that she was so confident that God would carry her through. I could not get the actual details about how she gave her life to Christ and accepted Christ Jesus as her personal Saviour and Lord due to the limitation of time but it was such a joy to see someone walk into light from darkness and see things in the real light.

Those of you who know the Lord, I kindly request you to remember Vani in your prayers.

Thanks Ranjana for your response. Yes, there is nothing in this life that is greater than accepting Christ Jesus personally in to our lives. That is the whole purpose of this life.
