Visit to Sydney during the Easter weekend
The Christian believers at Sydney had organized a Church Gathering (called the Holy Convocation) during the Easter weekend. That gave us an opportunity to visit Sydney for the first time.
We decided to drive to Sydney (900 Kms from Melbourne) since that would enable us to be flexible in our plans as well give us mobility in Sydney. Our original plan was to break journey at Wodonga where Chrish's brother resides. Wodonga is about 350 Kms from Melbourne and on the way to Sydney. However due to the last minute change of plans we ended up driving all the way to Sydney in one stretch.

Freezing temperatures in Melbourne
Winter in Melbourne (and sometimes even the summer) is quite cold in Melbourne but the temperature never touches the freezing point. Actually it it the cold breeze that makes you chill rather than the actual cold itself.
However this morning the temperatures touched zero degrees in most parts of Melbourne including our suburb. This happened around 6.30 in the morning. When I got out of the house to take the car I realized that the car was covered with a layer of ice. I couldn't remove it with my fingers but thank God when we poured water, the ice layer disappeared. I should have taken a photo of this uncommon happening but I did not. Maybe the next time.

Comments sans spam and lost credentials
I spent a lot of time today sorting out some emailing issues and implementing some changes to non-member comment postings.
Sylvia, I am sorry your comments were not posted immediately. I was tweaking the site to allow only members to post comments directly (immediately) to the site. Non-member comments will be moderated to avoid spam.
Ramji, hope you received the password reset emails. If you have lost your login credentials there is a forgot link on the log-in page. If you supply your email the system will send you a temporary password. You could log back in and then change your password by going to your profile.
If you face any issues please let me know and I would try my best to resolve them.

After a 6 months hiatus!
Well it's six months since I last posted and so many changes in the meantime. I had to bring down this blog quite unannounced because of the changes to the hosting. Also a new country, a new job and a new house meant no time to get the blog set up at the new hosting. Anyways now the blog is up again and I should be adding a lot of posts and photos to the blog in the coming days. So please stay tuned to ronney.net.

Arrived in Australia
We arrived in Australia on 6th August 2008. We enjoyed a pleasant journey and arrived at the Melbourne airport at 8.30 pm. By God's grace we didn't have any problems with the quarantine department and our luggage was never opened. Chrish's sister Aasha and her family and Chrish's brother Bertie were all present at the airport to receive us. More...

Our 5th Wedding Anniversary
We were not sure how we were going to celebrate our 5th anniversary which was on 5th July. However when Bro Glen and his wife happen to visit Sri Lanka (Bro. Glen came for our wedding and shared the word of God at our wedding) during the same period, Bro Neville had planned a trip for them in the hill country of Nuwaraeliya on 4th and then a one day convocation at Norwood on 5th July. Our First Car Sold!
On June 25th, I had an advertisement posted on an automobile sale website to sell my car. Immediately after that advertisement went online I started getting calls from interested parties. That evening the scene near my office was like an auction place and finally I sold the car to a respectable family. More...

Our Indian Visit
My mother wanted to settle down in India while I and my sister are planning to move to Australia. Hence I and Chrish accompanied my mother to help her settle in Nagercoil. In the meantime we used this opportunity to meet up some of my friends. After 10 years I was able to meet Sylvia at Madurai on 29th May and Sheena at Trivandrum on 1st June. At Madurai we visited the American College. More...

A birthday full of surprises for Chrish
Chrish's birthday, 11th May, happened to be a Sunday this year. I had organized a surprise birthday party for her right after the evening Church meeting. I was busy for over a week trying to invite some of her friends. It was not easy because most of her friends are appearing for CIMA exams in May. In spite of that some of her friends accepted the invitation and turned up. That was real nice of them. More...
